Today’s scripture: “The word of God directs us in our work and way, and a dark place indeed the world would be without it.
“The commandment is a lamp kept burning with the oil of the Spirit, as a light to direct us in the choice of our way, and the steps we take in that way.” — Matthew Henry’s Concise Commentary.
Imagine being in a class where the professor allowed you to use the course literature throughout a major exam.
And what if passing the course and earning a certificate were significant to you for a better quality of life? However, you decided not to use the information, even though you needed it.
Would that be wise, and how would you be able to pass and succeed in life?
When looking at the Bible, it covers every facet of life so that you can prosper on this earth and have eternal life.
It provides principles regarding your finances (Prov. 22:7; Luke 6:38), work and ethics (Eccles. 9:10), identity and purpose (Eph. 2:10; Jer. 29:11), emotional health (Phil. 4:6-7), and family and relationships (Eph. 4:32).
Yet not everyone is opening God’s Word. So, it doesn’t amaze me that society is in such disarray.
However, according to Barna, “Weekly Bible reading among U.S. adults has climbed to 42 percent, up 12 points since a 15-year low in 2024.”
THE MESSAGE: Just open the book, God’s Word; live by His principles and watch your life transform.
