LETTING GO OF WOULD’VE, COULD’VE, SHOULD’VE
In this post, I’ll show how carrying your baggage of the past can hinder you from future blessings. I’ll also discuss forgiveness and practical steps
Welcome to my site. I write Christian children’s books and fictional stories that inspire, and most of the time, my stories are relatable to the reader. It’s a great feeling when you can put words together, especially in a children’s book, that can transform a frown into a smile. And it’s a greater feeling to take that smile and pour out an abundance of laughter. Read More
David’s eight-year-old sister, Sophia, always had plenty of cornflakes and craft materials.
However, her mom has excluded her obsession from the family’s budget, and Aunt Angel can no longer afford to contribute.
After hearing that disturbing news, Sophia comes up with ways of making money, but they all fail.
Frantic and desperate, Sophia gets involved with her brother Chris’ deceitful and unique business, which involves lying; of course, because it has the potential to resolve her money issues.
David knows her secret and feels like he’s growing within the Word of God, so he confronts Sophia and tells her the biblical consequences of lying.
However, will David be able to persuade his sister to make lots of money so she can buy her own cornflakes and craft materials?
Find out what happens in the third episode of
The Unusual Life of David Snod.
When David stumbles upon his absentee father, he is once again faced with the reality that the father he wished and hoped for all his life and the one that stands before him aren’t one in the same.
Bob, his father, isn’t the kind of man who will encourage him when he’s down. He’s not a person he can rely on for deep conversations. He’s the man who calls him “the boy” and barely remembers he exists.
Chris, David’s athletic brother, is no help. He presses the issue by telling David their father only likes people who play a team sport, just like he did. Unfortunately, David didn’t inherit that talent.
But desperation is a funny thing. It pushes David to move outside of his comfort zone and tries out for a team. He’s nervous. He knows he doesn’t have an athletic bone in his body, and David feels that failure will drive a bigger wedge between him and his father.
Will David’s bold move win his dad over or will Bob see the error in his ways and meet David where he is in life and accept him for the young man he’s becoming?

I work in the youth ministry at my church, so I know this book will be relatable to any kid who reads it. Also, it will be relatable to any mom, especially a single mom. Sophia is hilarious, the typical little sister. (She reminds me of myself as a child.) When I was a child, I remember praying to God as David did and wondered if he heard my prayers (he hears you). Thank you, Kevin, for writing such a great book for the youth of our community!
Excellent storytelling and teachable moments that will instruct, encourage, inspire, and elevate readers. Great book for the kingdom, Mr. Rascoe, a fan!
I applaud the Author, Kevin William Rascoe, for his book, “The Unusual Life of David Snod: Episode 1.”
This book was very easy to read and comprehend. I believe this book is a great story and will help our youth to recognize what bullying looks like, whether at home among siblings or in school. This story helps by suggesting what to do and what not to do if you are being bullied.
And if you’re being bullied, know that you have many people who love and care about you in what you might be encountering.
Also, this book can show our youth that no one is perfect and never allow other people to define you. Love yourself, trust God, and know that he chose you before the foundation of the world.
I truly believe this book should be the next TV sitcom, and would definitely be a plus for family time all over the world.
