Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth. — Proverbs 271: NKJV.
This is Kevin William Rascoe, and welcome to my weekly devotional/blog.
Today’s scripture: “This is why today is the day of salvation; we never know what tomorrow may bring.” — The Perry Stone Study Bible.
Unfortunately, I’ve been to four funerals in the past six months of this year, and there have been a few more who have passed that I know of, where I wasn’t able to attend their funerals.
I begin with that intro because we unconsciously procrastinate, as if tomorrow will come and go.
However, think about this: even if we see tomorrow, most squander the present day by dwelling on what happened yesterday.
And many of us allow social media and sinful activities to replace the precious time God has given us.
But why? It’s because most believe they will see tomorrow.
THE MESSAGE: The Lord woke us up today because He has a specific purpose for our lives (Ps. 3:5). But what we do with the “present” is one of the most important things that most take for granted.
However, do not boast about tomorrow; it’s not promised, but if we’re allowed to see it, it is for a specific purpose.
So, I leave you with this question: What is your purpose? Are you doing God’s will?
Until next time, God bless!
Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth. — Proverbs 271: NKJV.
If you haven’t accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior and repented of your sins, then do so now because there is no guarantee you’ll have another opportunity tomorrow (Romans 10:9-10).
