Today’s scripture: “Moses assures Israel of the constant presence of God with them.
“This is applied by the apostle to all God’s spiritual Israel, to encourage their faith and hope; unto us is this gospel preached, as well as unto them; he will never fail thee, nor forsake thee, Heb. 13:5.” — Matthew Henry’s Concise Commentary.
In the 1990 classic Home Alone, 8-year-old Kevin McCallister, played by Macaulay Culkin, is accidentally left home alone in suburban Chicago, where intruders try to break in.
That’s just a movie, but child abandonment happens every day; however, the Heavenly Father is a parent who will never leave His child alone, especially when they’re under attack by the enemy.
THE MESSAGE: You might feel alone in a relationship, or you might feel surrounded by only debt, poverty, and worry, and feel abandoned. But God didn’t even leave the thief on the cross in darkness.
And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.” — Luke 23:43 NKJV
So, He will never leave or forsake you; His Word is bond.
