The Forgiven

As far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us. — Psalm 103:12, ESV.

This is Kevin William Rascoe, and welcome to my weekly devotional/blog.

Many will beat us up over mistakes (sins) in this world, and social media has given everyone the opportunity to throw stones.

However, in the spiritual world, when we ask the Heavenly Father for forgiveness, the Lord does just that.

Today’s Scripture: If we walked or flew east (from repentance), our compass would point eastward the entire time. We’d circle the planet and return to (God’s forgiveness), where our fresh start began. Nevertheless, it’s up to us to never go westward (back to our sins).

But we can get off track if we listen to the finger-pointers; it can turn us around, and soon, we could find ourselves talking about it, visualizing it, and then revisiting the sin.

However, what God has delivered us from, we should not let anyone point us back to it with their words or comments, because only His Word should ever matter.

Suggestion: Reflect on the brutality Christ endured; His death, burial, and resurrection assure you that God forgives any sins you have repented of, and believe that He forgives you because…

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. — John 3:16, ESV.

Prayer: Father, others may throw verbal stones at us, but we will not allow what they say to harm us emotionally. We are just so grateful that You forgive us when we repent, and we will obey Jesus’ commandment: “Go, and sin no more” (Jn. 8:11, KJV). Our eastward journey will be our new path in life, and we will not turn around. In Jesus Christ’s name, we pray. Amen.

Until next time, God bless!

If you haven’t accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior and repented of your sins, then do so now because there is no guarantee you’ll have another opportunity tomorrow (Rom. 10:9-10).

The youth need to read children’s books. So, why not give them a children’s Christian book that’s written for a child but contains a lesson for all? ORDER TODAY: Episode 3.
